World Premiere | Australia
Having played sold-out shows across Australia, Adelaide’s own all-female disability pop group, The Sisters of Invention, premiere their cabaret show packed with sensational songs and exuberant laughs. Bold, brilliant and determined to challenge society’s pre-conceived ideas about who can be a pop star, The Sisters of Invention - Aimee Crathern, Michelle Hall, Caroline Hardy and Annika Hooper - write and produce original songs, collaborating with industry powerhouses Michael Ross (Electric Fields), Kathie Renner (Vincent's Chair) and Mario Spate (aka Badcop). Powered by Tutti Arts, The Sisters have created their own stand-out style and a repertoire of original songs that both redefine and embrace the pop genre.
Their audacious music video This Isn’t Disneyland launched in 2014 was followed by a self-titled debut album in 2015 full of “top notch pop songs that... deal with the emotional truths of life” (Clem Bastow, Daily Life). That same year saw the release of As Real As It Gets, a documentary about The Sisters followed by Pop-Ability the acclaimed five-part docu-series created exclusively for ABC iView.
Much laughter, great music and plenty of attitude…You Ready For This? We think you are!
