Global star Ute Lemper creates magic on stage, re-living a three-hour telephone exchange she had with Marlene Dietrich in 1988. Back then, amongst the lights of Paris, Lemper’s extraordinary career was just beginning as Dietrich looked back on a long, fulfilled life of movies, music, love stories and stardom.

What a secret gift to hear Marlene’s love for poet Rilke, her complicated relationship with Germany, her sorrow and her fascinations.

In this stunning show, Ute tells us Marlene’s story, along with singing her fabulous songs from all the chapters of her life, from the Berlin cabaret years to her fabulous Burt Bacharach collaborations.

She takes her place centre stage, and owns it. The Guardian
This was the kind of performance that will be remembered for a lifetime. The Independent
