Adelaide Cabaret Festival is celebrated for showcasing the crème de la crème of the genre – so it comes as no surprise to learn that it has just collaborated with another class act in exciting new Barossa Valley-based, Corryton Burge, and its contemporary range of fine wines.
The initial two-year partnership with Corryton Burge and its sibling owners, Trent, and Amelia Burge, continues the iconic winemaking family’s longstanding association with and support of the arts, both in Adelaide and across Australia.
It will see Corryton Burge wines served to theatregoers in all Adelaide Festival Centre bars during the 2021 and 2022 events, starting with this year’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival, which runs from June 11 to 26.
“We are thrilled to strengthen our support of the arts through this partnership with the world-renowned cabaret festival and hope our wines bring as much joy to audiences as do the top billing acts like award-winning artists Alan Cumming, Tim Minchin, and Eddie Perfect,” said Amelia who, as a Bachelor of Wine Marketing graduate, takes care of all Corryton Burge marketing and partnership operations.
The collaboration also has Corryton Burge – first launched in July 2020 – establishing a pop-up bar in Adelaide Festival Centre’s Festival Theatre foyer, where a range of red and white wines will be served to guests.
The pop-up will allow patrons to learn more about each drop and immerse themselves in a premier Barossa wine experience that stretches back six generations.
Away from the stage and the bright lights, the partnership this year features several events for the artists, among them an ‘Artist Breakaway’ at the winery, where the Corryton Burge team have a few surprises up their sleeve.
A dinner open to the public, featuring a guest cabaret artist, a Question-and-Answer session with Trent and Amelia Burge, and the opportunity to sample exclusive wines not available through the bars or pop-up, completes the 2021 partnership program.
“Through our support, we aim to add an exciting new – and fitting – element to this world-class event by sharing a Corryton Burge range that, while remaining true to time-honoured family traditions dating back some 165 years, nudges the boundaries to add a hint of fresh adventure to the wines,” added winemaker Trent.
“Ultimately, we hope that, through this association with the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, we can share our philosophy that wine is a simple pleasure that brings families and friends together, with a growing audience.”
Adelaide Festival Centre Manager, Commercial Partnerships, Hospitality and Events, Teresa Whitehorn said: “Adelaide Cabaret Festival is thrilled to be partnering with Corryton Burge - two beloved and proud South Australian brands.
“We look forward to our patrons experiencing these unique wine activations during Adelaide’s most popular winter event.”
